Many of us have been in survival mode this year, and it looks like things won’t be changing immediately as we head into 2021. So, how can we shift our energy going into next year?
When planning for 2021, it’s a good idea to start checking in with where you stand against your human needs. These are the six human needs:
Certainty
Uncertainty/Variety
Significance
Love/Connection
Growth
Contribution/Impact
Impact is my word of 2021, and after assessing my place in the six human needs, it’s the one I plan to focus on most. Let’s talk about all of the ways we can learn to make impact a priority.
How to Lean Into Impact
Your “why” needs to be greater than simply hitting goals and benchmarks
Be more directed on what clients you serve by focusing on the values you want to serve
Ask yourself: What do I want to be known for? Who do I want to impact? How do I define impact?
Use that as a guiding post for how you create your strategic plans for 2021.
